"We Got Your Six!"
SG-2 is a team under the command of SG-Command.net, a much larger non-profit organization dedicated to spreading and increasing Stargate fandom and costuming throughout the world. It is the premier Stargate prop building and costuming organization available today. Every member of SG-2 must first be a member of the SG-C by visiting www.SG-Command.net and registering with the website. Under the superb leadership of Dan Kim, The Base Commander and founder of the SG-C, there are several SG teams all with designated regions within the United States and throughout the world. Each team must comprise of at least four persons with one of them assigned as the Team Leader (TL). Once the team grows in membership to a significant number, the TL may then form detachments (sub-teams) and Space Fighter Squadrons (SFS) under his/her command. However, for clarification purposes, I find it necessary to note here that we are NOT a roleplaying group. In fact, a costume is NOT even required to join, only a love for Stargate SG-1, all things related to the show and a willingness to help spread SG-1 fandom.

The shared goal of all these teams, their members, and the entire SG-Command is to support and encourage Stargate fandom throughout the world. SG-2 is making it's efforts in doing just that by attending conventions and other various events while representing the SG-C and Stargate SG-1. Thus far, in our history, we have set the ball rolling for inducting actual actors from the TV show into the SG-C as honorary members of Team SG-1. SG-2 was happy to welcome both Teryl Rothery and Michael Welch as being the first actors to join our organization as honorary members.

SG-2's territory is the Northeast, which includes PA and anything geographically north of that in the United States. Currently, we have approximately 35 members. In just under a year's time, our team went from having a mere four members to now having both a Detachment (designated SG-2B Bravo Detachment) and a Squadron (designated SG-2 201st Darkstar Titans SFS). The detachment was formed strictly for organizational purposes. Since our region is quite extensive, any members living in the 'New England' area have the option to join SG-2B under the exceptional leadership of Robb Jackson. The Squadron is reserved for members who have a particular interest in fighter planes. It is successfully being run by Kevin Zabawa, the assigned Squadron Leader. For more information regarding the 201st SFS, please visit the SG-2 Squadron page on this site.

Our team was first formed in August of 2003. At that time, there were only a handful of people in the northeast region who were aware of a Stargate fan organization. So, with their help, we formed a team in our area and designated it SG-2. I chose that number since it was second to SG-1, a team designation that no one could take as it's reserved for official actors from the show. So, being second best had to do. And hence, our logo "we got your six!" came to be. There's no doubt you can count on us to be right there with you, to watch your back, on your adventures through the gate. We may not be the front line, but we're the guys who follow in their footsteps.

Our Mission
To promote and support Stargate fandom in the United States and around the world; To encourage Stargate costuming and prop building in all facets of the TV show; To indiscriminately increase our membership by seeking out other Stargate fans in the Northeast region of the United States.
